Christopher Omachi is an independent art advisor based in New York and Los Angeles. His boutique advisory provides services focused on building and growing collections that value sustained personal, cultural, and market significance. Omachi works closely with modern and contemporary galleries, independent artists, and public collections to guide and facilitate acquisitions, sales, and growth. He has extensive experience providing services to individual collectors, design firms, as well as hospitality and corporate clients.
Previously, Omachi worked at several contemporary art galleries in New York including Gladstone, Pace, and Gagosian as well as Ruth | Catone advisory and Artsy, the world’s leading online marketplace for fine art. He also has extensive experience in the corporate world, having held positions at Audible and HBO leading business development, digital distribution, content strategy, and brand partnerships.
Omachi graduated with a BA in Art History from Bowdoin College. He serves on the advisory council to the Bowdoin College Museum of Art as well as their Collectors’ Collaborative. He is on the Board of Directors of Broadway Housing Communities and is a trustee of Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art and Storytelling in Harlem, NY. He is a member of the Contemporary Art Society at the Milwaukee Museum of Art.
He was born in Southern California, grew up in Chicago, and currently lives between Brooklyn and Los Angeles.
